This Terms of Use agreement covers use of this Football Squares site (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to these terms.
The Site is a coordination and scorekeeping tool for informal squares pools run by private groups, families, friends, coworkers, and similar. It provides a shared board, keeps track of who has claimed which squares, and posts scores and winners as a game progresses. It's meant for pools that already exist among people who know each other, not for the public at large.
The Site does not operate, host, sponsor, or take a cut of any wager, pot, or pool. It does not accept, hold, or transmit money on anyone's behalf. Any cost per square, pot amount, or payment method (Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, PayPal, or otherwise) displayed on a pool's page is entered by that pool's own admin and reflects an arrangement solely between that admin and the pool's players; payment happens directly between them, entirely off the Site. The Site's role is limited to displaying the board, recording who selected which squares, and posting the scores an admin enters.
Laws about informal wagering among private groups vary by location, and it's your responsibility, not the Site's, to know and follow the laws that apply to you and your pool. By using the Site to run or join a pool, you confirm that doing so is lawful where you and your pool's participants are located, and that you're of legal age to participate in that kind of activity where you live. The Site makes no representation that using it is lawful in every jurisdiction.
Whoever creates a pool (or whoever they designate) becomes that pool's admin and is responsible for running it: setting the cost per square, entering scores accurately, deciding payout rules, and collecting and paying out money among the pool's own players. The Site doesn't verify scores, arbitrate disputes between an admin and their players, or guarantee that any admin will collect or pay out what's owed. If you have a dispute about a pool, it's between you and that pool's admin or its other participants.
The Site is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, lose data, or contain errors from time to time. To the fullest extent the law allows, the Site's operator isn't liable for any loss, including money owed within a pool, arising from your use of the Site.
Don't use the Site for anything illegal, to harass or defraud others, or to attempt to access another pool's data or accounts without authorization.
